About Us
Bedflow Children is a specialist emergency placement and stabilisation service for children and young people from birth to 15 years old.
Based in our family home in the friendly riverside town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire, we provide short-term, nurturing care in a calm and supportive 5-bedroom family environment surrounded by beautiful countryside and excellent local facilities.
With over 36 years of fostering experience, we specialise in supporting children with complex needs, including Autism (Level 3), ADHD, Pica, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and neonatal drug withdrawal.
Our Registered Manager is a qualified Registered Senior Social Worker with extensive experience in mental health, hospital social work, and safeguarding. This professional expertise ensures that every child receives high-quality, trauma-informed, and individualised care in a safe and loving home setting.
Why We Exist
After many years in fostering, we recognised a real gap in provision for children in crisis. We saw how difficult it can be for local authorities to find immediate, suitable placements while longer-term options are being arranged.
That’s why we created Bedflow Children — to offer a reliable, caring solution for:
- Short-term stabilisation placements while councils search for the right longer-term placement
- Respite care for existing foster carers who need a break
- Emergency respite support for families during times of crisis
We provide a safe space where children can stabilise, feel secure, and begin to feel hope again while the right permanent or longer-term arrangements are made.
Our Approach
We believe every child deserves to be cared for in a genuine family home rather than a large institutional setting. Our small, personalised service allows us to offer consistent, hands-on support tailored to each child’s individual needs.
We work closely with local authorities, social workers, and other professionals to ensure smooth transitions and the best possible outcomes for the children we support.
